కాప్సికం రైస్ ~ Capsicum Rice

Capsicums comes in an exciting range of colors , green , yellow , red , orange. This is also Known by a number of names, like chili pepper, bell pepper and red or green pepper, the vegetable is used as a spice, medicine and obviously, a vegetable. Now a days every one are worried about calories. instead of taste every one wants low fat food. This vegetable is for them , Becaus capsicum speeds up the metabolism and helps burn more calories.  There are so many benefits by this vegetable , Like


  •  Capsicum has been known to be beneficial to the mucous membranes. It is also good for eyesight as well as smooth skin.
  • The vegetable helps reduce cholesterol and thus, is effective in warding off strokes and heart attacks.
  • The vegetable is rich in beta carotene, capsaicin and vitamins A and C, all of which work together to prevent a host of diseases, including live disease and impotency
  • apsicum has been found to be useful in the treatment of chronic rhinitis.

Ingredients :

Onions : 1/2 cup
Green chilies : 2 cut length wise (if u need more spice u can add more)
Roasted groundnut powder : 2 to 3 tbs
Green capsicums : 1 med size (Cut capsicums into small pieces)
Red capsicums : 1 med size
yellow capsicums : 1 med size

(if u dont have color capsicums. Then u can add only one color of capsicums. It depends in u.)

Curry leaves : 2
cumin seeds : 1 tsp
mustard seeds : 1 tsp
salt to taste
Basmathi rice :2 cups (nit cooked)
cilantro : 3 stems cut them in small pieces


Preparation :

soak rice for 15 min. Then cook it .cool it in a separate bowl. (dont add too much water. By adding too much of water rice mey break. so add 3 1/2 cups of water for 2 cups of rice)


Heat oil in a pan. When oil is heated add cumin seeds , mustard seeds .

When mustard seeds pop up add curry leaves and onions. when onions turn light pink add capsicums.

Keep the flame in simmer and fry them for 20 min . Keep stiring for 2-3 min occasionally . so that it may not turn black.

After 20 min add salt and cooked rice . (dont switch off flame). mix them well. then add ground nut powder to rice. keep mixing for 2-3 min .then switch off stove.

garmish with cilantro. colorfull capsicum rice is done.
