రసం ~ Rasam Varieties

I would like to post different types of Rasam... I will post them slowly.(photos are also posted but little bit slowly)



మసూర్ దాల్ రసం ~ Lentils Rasam



Ingredients:

Masoor dal : 1/2 cup
Jeera : 1tsp
Jeera powder : 1tsp (roast them and make in to powder )
Garlic : 3-4
Red chillies : 2
Curry leaves : 5 leaves
Turmeric : pinch
Tomatoes : 1 med (cut them into small pieces)
Tamarind water : 1 cup
Coriander leaves : 2-3 branches chopped

Preparation:
In a Pan roast Masoor dal (Without oil). When they change color remove them and Grind them into powder. Remove Powder in a bowl and add water (dont add too much water enough water to make it into paste).

Again In a Pan take oil .. when oil is heated up add jeera , garlic , red chillies , curry leaves , turmeric fry them untli garlic turns there color don't make them burn.

Now add chopped tomatoes fry for 3 min (until tomatoes mash up neatly)then add tamarind water fry for a min and add enough water (1 cup) close lid wait until water raises up.

Now open lid and add masoor powder (mixed in water ) mix well . and keep in small heat for 5 min

Finally add salt and coriender leaves.

Rasam is done........



ఉల్లగడ్డ చారు ~ Potato Rasam


Ingredients:

Mustard seeds : 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds (Jeera): 1 tbsp
Green Chilies : 4 ( u can add according to ur spice )
Ginger Garlic Paste : 1/2 tbsp
Coconut Powder : 2 - 3 tbsp
Cilantro : 2 -3 branches
Pudina : 4 leaves
Poppy seeds powder : 1/2 tbsp (roast them and grind)
Cashewnuts powder : 2 tbsp (roast them and grind)
Salt for taste
Turmeric powder : Pinch
chilie powder : 1/2 tbsp ( optional )(it will be too spice if we are also adding green chilies)
Curd : 1 1/2cup
Water : 1/2 cup
Potatoes : 1 full(medium size) (if u like potatoes much u can add one and half potatoes)


Preparation:

In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds , Cumin seeds. When mustard seeds pop up add green chilis .

After 10 sec add Ginger garlic paste and coconut powder , cilantro , pudina , poppy seeds powder and finally add cashewnuts powder.

Mix it well for 1 min then add salt , turmeric , chilie powder . mix well for 1 min 30 sec then add curd with little water .

Close lid. keep it on slow flame for 3 min . Then add cut potatoes. Remove after potatoes are fully cooked. Potatoes should be cooked until soft.

Aloo Rasam is done.......
